Tregaron and it’s surrounding beautiful countryside set the scene for the Annual Cors Caron Half Marathon. An undulating course pre-dominantly ran on tarmac with the exception of a 3 mile stretch which is run along the old Tregaron to Aberystwyth railway line but now part of the stunning Cors Caron Nature Reserve, attracted 118 runners of which 22 represented Sarn Helen Running Club.

Mike Davies, Ollie George, Dee Jolly and two of Sarn Helen’s Juniour Runners Ben and Jacob Hall travelled opposite side of the country to Bannau Brycheiniog National Park to compete at the Welsh Cross Country Championships, all 5 proudly flew the flag for Sarn Helen Running Club by achieving great results on the day.

Sarn Helen runners have been spreading their wings having travelled to compete in two of Wales’ beautiful National Parks.

Llanelli 10K and Half Marathon was held on February 25th and 7 Sarn Helen Runners took part. The route is ideal for achieving Personal Best Times as the race is ran over a flat terrain along the beautiful Millenium Coastal Path and if it is stunning scenery you are looking for, this is the race to compete in as it overlooks the Loughor Estuary and the Gower Peninsula.

The Rhayader Hills were alive with the sound of pounding feet on tarmac, 10 of them belonging to 5 Sarn Helen Runners as they took to the starting line at the Rhayader Round The Lakes 10K and 30K races.

Parc Pont-Y-Pwl, Pontypool was the final venue for this year’s John H Collins Gwent Cross Country League series, this is a series of 5 races held over the Winter months in 5 different locations hosted by different running clubs covering South Wales and crossing the border into England.

There have been three rounds of the 2023 club championshop that have now taken place, Teifi 10 back in April, Dyffryn Cledlyn on the 8^th of May and most recently the Sarn Helen Hill Race Festival.
