Sarn Helen Runners have been busy, running here, there and everywhere. Sarah Puetz took part in the TATA Steel Richard Burton 10K, a challenging but scenic route starting from Cwmavon Rugby Club. Sarah had a great run to finish in 1:00:17.

Dylan Davies crossed over into England to compete at the Delamere Forest Trail Half Marathon, an undulating course taking in the beauty of the Cheshire woodlands. Despite feeling under the weather Dylan had a superb race to finish 2nd overall in an impressive time of 1:27:51.

The Abersoch Half Marathon is ran over mixed terrain with the highlight being the last mile or so which is ran across Abersoch beach. Ceinwen James was the sole Sarn Helen runner to compete and had a good run to finish in 2hrs 14 minutes.

Sarn Helen Junior Runners competed well at Cwmanne recently with great times posted by all. In the 800M race Elis Herrick was 4th and Celt Davies 5th whilst Evelyn Eadon came 2nd for the girls with Esther Llwyd Jones in 11th. In the 1500M race Tudur Llwyd Jones finished in 2nd position with Eva Davies and Sioned Kersey finishing in 1st and 2nd place respectively.

Lou Summers made a spontaneous decision to travel to Spain to compete in the Palma Half Marathon, despite the heat Lou had an amazing run to finish in 1:40:10 also securing 3rd place in the F55 category.

The 3rd and final of this year’s SSAFA 5K road series in Cardiff saw Emma Palfrey run a fantastic time of 18:59 to finish 11th overall. Emma then travelled up North to compete in Dolgellau in what is locally known as Dol 5. Emma was 2nd lady home in a superb time of 32:18 to claim 1st in the F40 category smashing the previous record for this age group by 6minutes and 6seconds.
